           Multi-Mente version 2.07A+ Manual (patched FAT16 & Y2K)

                      Copyright (C) MOGU 1993,1996

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

First, thank you to view MM207-e.txt

MM (Multi-Mente) is a filer to work quick and handy with MSX-DOS2.

-----------------------
* System requirements *
-----------------------

Material: MSX2 (128 KB of VRAM minimum), MSX2+ or MSX turbo R with a disk drive.
System: MSX-DOS 2.xx

----------
* Run MM *
----------

MM <Drive:><Directory>[RETURN]

<Drive:> on which MM has been installed.
<Directory> is the name of folder that contains all MM files.

- The indications of the drive and folder are optional.
By default, the path of MM.COM will be selected.

-------------------------
* Files belonging to MM *
-------------------------

MM.COM Command that runs Multi-Mente.

MM.EXE The additional program of MM (must be placed in the same
folder as MM.COM to run MM).

MMRET.DAT The file in which the settings are for the RETURN-option
with which you can let MM do something for you, dependant
on the extension of the current file. Change it for your
own system. If this file is absent, the default configuration
            will be considered instead.

MMMCR.DAT The file that contains the menu-options of the menu that
can be popped up with the [GRAPH]-key.

MM.CFG Text file that contains configuration parameters.

MM.HIS This file contains the commands which were input in the
            [X] Window.

MM.PHS This file contains the commands which were input in the
            [H] Window.

MMPART.DIR File uses when switching partitions with MEGA-SCSI.

- The MM.HIS, MM.PHS and MMPART.DIR files are created and updated
automatically when corresponding function is executed.

-----------------------------------------------
* MM uses the following environment variables *
-----------------------------------------------

%FONT0808% Allows to change the font of characters 8x8 (ank) contained
in ROM by default. The file must have a size of 1784 bytes.
It contains the shape of the characters has 20H to FFH.

%MM% Contains the name of the folder where MM's files are placed.
If the variable is empty the folder of MM.COM will be chosen.

%HOME% START drive/directory. With this set, you can go to the
            boot-directory of MM pressing [/].
Put this in a .BAT file. E.g. SET HOME =A:\MM

%SHELL% Used when an external command/program is called. (Leave
            COMMAND2.COM if MSX-DOS2 is used)

%TEMP% Drive/directory where the temporary-files are saved.
Put this in a .BAT file.

%TIME% Time in 12 or 24 hour-mode. (24 default.)
Put this in a .BAT file.

So, you could put the following things in a .BAT file:

I'm assuming here that there exists a directory MM and a directory UTILS.

SET HOME=A:\MM By pressing '/' you go immediately to DRIVE/DIR.
SET TEMP=A:\TEMP MM, PMM and DOS put there TMP-files on \TEMP now.
You can move this folder to a ramdisk to improve
speed (replace A: by H:) but some software may lack
                           memory.
SET TIME=12 Default 24.
PATH = A:\ A:\MM A:\UTILS Every file that MM (and also e.g. PMM) uses
                           must be located here!
