This game is for MSX2 with 128KB VRAM.
* How to start

Get a zip file including a dsk image. Write the image down to 2DD and load it by real MSX. Or execute the image with an MSX emulator as you like. For your quick launch click here, and the game will start on WebMSX.

* How to play

(1) Control

Play with keyboard, cursor keys as move, space bar as firing a beam rifle, and shift key as firing a vulcan mounted on your forehead.
(2) Screen

You can see a transparent back shot of your mobile suit, and a red gun-sight at the center of screen.
You sometimes see icons at the corner. Rifle warning is at the upeer-left. Yellow one means the beam rifle has few power remaining. After it becomes red, you must fight by only the powerless vulcan.
Mothership warning is at the upper-right. Imagine the enemies out of the range of screen attack your mothership. If you leave them for a long time, the icon will become yellow. That means your mothership is under their attacks. When it becomes red, you lose your mothership and the game is over.
(3) 1st half of the game

At the beginning of the game, you can see three icons fanning out from the center. They are the enemies, indicating their own type name "06F". That means they are sailing in the distance. Only your beam rifle can reach to them but it's very difficult to hit the target.
They often fire their machine-gun to you even in the distance. It never destroys your mobile suit because you are very strong-armorized. But the direct hit makes you uncontrolable for a moment. If you allow the situation to contine, they will bring your mothership down in the meantime.
They sometimes try close combat. Now you can see his mobile suit in your sight. Fire your beam rifle or vulcan. The beam can destroy the enemy at a stroke. You need many hits to do that by valcan. If you bring three enemies down or two minutes pass by, the game is going to the 2nd half.
(4) 2nd half of the game

The enemy's commander is coming up, with riding a red mobile suit three times faster than general ones. He relentlessly attack you by close combat. You must take care of the other enemies for defending your mothership if they are still alive. After withstanding his attack for a minute, they will withdraw.
(5) Game over

If your mothership is brought down or you survive till the enemies' withdraw, the game will be over. You can see "newtype rate" as your score. You can also see an ending picture. It is altered in accordance with your newtype rate.
* Liner notes

This program was developed in 1995 or 6... I don't clearly remember... for competing against PS1, the first generation of SCE PlayStation. It was placed on my old web server for a short term but a naggish friend of mine made me hesitate to open it to the public on the Internet. So I had kept it as a dead stock for a long time. Recently I dug up the diskette used for the development of this program from my closet. I decided releasing this program now because it will be eternally dead if I miss this chance.
